AutoLaunchuser manual

At ignition it checks wireless ADB, restores Wi-Fi, launches your apps, then closes its own screen. For the Sealion 7 head unit. A separate app from Beetle Launcher.

Unofficial. Not affiliated with the vehicle manufacturer. It only does the taps you used to do at ignition. It does not modify the car.

Installing

This car blocks installs from a file manager. Third-party APKs cannot be installed that way. Install over wireless ADB from a phone.

Use a phone

Put your phone on the same Wi-Fi as the car, connect to wireless ADB with one of these apps and install the APK straight from it. No computer, no cable.

atvTools — iPhone and iPad. Paid, about US$1, iOS 14 or newer.
Bugjaeger — Android. Free.

Bugjaeger is Android only. On iPhone use atvTools.

Get the APK from the Download tab on the home page. If it is already installed, install over the old one.

First time

Do this once after install. If you uninstall and install again, repeat steps 2, 3 and 5. After an update, check step 5 only.

1. Turn wireless ADB on. Once, in the head-unit developer settings. Skip this if it is already on.
2. Grant one permission. Run this from the phone app’s shell. With it, accessibility turns itself back on after a reboot. If you only turn it on by hand in Settings, you must do that again after every full reboot.

3. Allow this app on the car. Tap Connect / authorize on the Status tab, then Always allow on the car screen. Once is enough.
4. Pick the work and save. On the Auto launch tab, pick apps or turn on default home / Wi-Fi restore. You must tap Save and apply or the car keeps the old setup.
5. Allow autostart. In the car’s Disable Autostart app, turn this app’s toggle off. Off means autostart is allowed. An update can turn that toggle back on.

The same steps are under First-run help on the Status tab. Open it again after a reinstall.

What happens at ignition

When it sees ignition it runs the steps below, in order. Each step finishes before the next starts.

It checks wireless ADB. If it is already on, it does not rotate the screen and goes to Wi-Fi.
If it is off, the screen rotates clockwise 90° to portrait. It taps wireless ADB on the engineer screen, then rotates counter-clockwise 90° back to landscape. The next step waits until landscape is back.
It checks the saved Wi-Fi. If the car is not on that network, it pushes the saved password in again. If it is already connected, it leaves it.
It launches the apps you picked, top to bottom. With split on, #1 is left and #2 is right. #3 and later go behind. If the list is empty, it skips launch.
It closes its own screen. The accessibility service stays for the next ignition. It does not kill its own process.

The diagram on the settings screen is that same branching. Yellow is a question, red is extra work, green skips ahead.

Settings

The Auto launch tab. Until you tap Save and apply, the next ignition still uses the old setup.

Launch order · Apps

The right-hand list is apps on the car. Check one to add it to the launch order on the left. Use ▲▼ to reorder, ✕ to remove. Pick only what you want at every ignition, such as nav or trip.

If this list is empty, no apps launch — only Home / Wi-Fi below still run. You can still save.

Language

Changes on-screen text only. Car settings and app names stay as they are.

Timing

Wait after ignition: Wait after ignition is detected before the first app. Default 10 seconds. Too short and apps fail or split does not stick.
Gap between apps: Gap between apps. If split does not stick, try 3–5 seconds.
Status poll interval: How often to check if the screen went off then on. 2 seconds is typical. Cannot be below 1.

Smaller numbers start sooner. If the head unit is still waking up, raise the seconds.

Display

Split screen: This car supports split screen even on Android 11 (API 30). On: launch-order #1 = left, #2 = right. A single app is not split.
Split mode: Side by side (3/4) is the default. If windows stack, try Multi-window (6). “No split” is the same as turning the switch off.

Home screen

Beetle Launcher as default home: After a reboot the car sometimes forgets the default home. When this is on, every ignition sets Beetle Launcher as home again. Beetle Launcher must be installed.

Wi-Fi

This car often drops the Wi-Fi name and password. When on, ignition checks the chosen network and pushes the saved password if needed.

Visible Wi-Fi: The list is networks the car can see right now. Scan again refreshes it. If wireless ADB is off, the scan may fail — connect on the Status tab first.
Password: The password for that network. With restore on, you must fill both SSID and password to save.
Wait for connection: How long to wait after pushing the password to see if it connected.

Restore Wi-Fi now runs that step without waiting for ignition. Watch the banner and the log.

Save and apply

You must tap this. If save fails, the values still stay on this screen — connect on the Status tab and save again.

Status

If every row is green / yes / open, ignition automation will run. If a row is red, fix that row first.

Connect / authorize: Always allow appears on the car screen. Tap it once.
Start / restart supervisor: Ignition is watched by a script on the car, not by this app’s screen. The script stays if you close the app.
Test now: Runs the app launch once without waiting for ignition. Check the log for the result.
Accessibility auto-repair: With the permission from step 2, accessibility turns itself back on after a reboot. Without it, you must turn it on by hand every time it drops. If accessibility is off, the app cannot tap wireless ADB for you.
Send log · Delete log: Debug logs are kept for now. Send puts them in logs/autolaunch on the server. Delete clears the copy on the car; files already sent stay on the server.

When it does not work

It will not install from a file manager

This car blocks third-party installs. Put the phone on the same Wi-Fi as the car, then install the APK from the download page with atvTools (iPhone) or Bugjaeger (Android) over wireless ADB.

Nothing happens at ignition

Look at red rows on the Status tab first. Check that you tapped Save and apply, that this app is off in Disable Autostart, and that accessibility is on. Test now runs the app launch without waiting for ignition.

Wireless ADB keeps turning itself off

If accessibility is off it cannot tap the button for you. Grant the permission in step 2, then refresh the Status tab. Accessibility auto-repair must read as on or it will not come back after a reboot.

The screen stays in portrait

Portrait is only while it turns wireless ADB on. Wi-Fi and apps wait until landscape is back. If it stops in portrait, send the status log to the server.

Wi-Fi does not connect

The list only shows networks the car can see right now. Check the password and that restore is on. If scan fails, connect on the Status tab then tap Scan again.

Apps do not launch, or split does not stick

Raise Wait after ignition and Gap between apps. Change split mode from side-by-side to multi-window and save. A single app is not split.

It stops running at ignition after an update

The Disable Autostart toggle often turns back on. Turn this app’s toggle off again.

Anything else

Which screen, what you did, what happened — with those three the cause can usually be found without the car. You can send the log from the Status tab. → Report a bug
